2 Out of 3 Ain’t Bad for Old Wesley Junior Teams

It was a very successful weekend on the pitch for Old Wesley winning two rugby trophies and seeing both teams promoted.

In Metro League Division 2 Old Wesley 2nds had a resounding 52-15 win over St Mary’s, and not many teams make that claim to fame. The result means Old Wesley win the Division 2 title and are promoted to Division 1 for next season. Old Wesley scored eight tries including a hattrick by Wesley Deverell and kick and chase by Johnny Carroll.

In Metro League Division 2 Old Wesley 4ths also won by a highly respectable 40-13 against Coolmine. The result means Old Wesley also win the Division 7 title and are promoted to Division 6 for next season. Old Wesley scored six tries by Sam Moore, Keith Kane (2), Mark Toal-Lennon, Shane Deignan and veteran team Captain Graham Richmond.  Ronan Donovan added five conversions.

Unfortunately the 3rds were less fortunate losing 6-11 to Terenure in the Division 4 final.
